Streetscape improvement throughout downtown

• Instituted building top lighting (1986-2002)
• Instituted banner ordinance and ongoing program (1985-1992)
• Facilitated creation of Friends of Hermann Square for beautification of area around City Hall (1992-1999)
• Planned, funded and produced holiday decoration of streets, plazas and parks (1983-1991)
• Worked with building managers on streetscape improvements for the Economic Summit, which resulted in several permanent changes such as outdoor cafes (1990)
• Initiated carriage rides in downtown in conjunction with holiday festivities  (1987)
• Staffed Trees for Downtown program that planted more than 2,000 street trees in downtown  (1986—program became Trees for Houston)
